## 是什麼

一座叢集是指一組由計算機或應用程式為實現共同目標而協同工作。
在雲端原生計算的背景之下，這個詞彙通常用於 [Kubernetes](https://glossary.cncf.io/zh-tw/kubernetes/)。
一座 Kubernetes 叢集是一組執行在它們自己的容器中的服務 (或工作負載)，通常在不同的機器上執行。
所有這些通過網路連接的 [容器化](https://glossary.cncf.io/zh-tw/containerization/) 服務集合代表一座叢集。

## 解決的問題

在單一計算機上執行的軟體若出現單點故障 - 如那台計算機當機、或者有人意外拔掉電源線，那麼某些關鍵的業務系統可能會被離線。
這就是為什麼現代軟體通常被建構成 [分散式應用程式](https://glossary.cncf.io/zh-tw/distributed-apps/)，並集結為叢集的原因。

雖然分散式叢集應用程式執行在多台機器上，消除了單點故障，但是建構分散式系統確實很困難。事實上，它是資訊工程中的一門獨立學科。
